i am repainting my bedroom, will that hurt my fish?

i just wondering that if the smell of the paint or whatever paint related gets to the water will it hurt my fish, do i have to move the tank to another room while i paint?
i am not a simple-minded freak, i just am being safe and is checking to make sure i dont kill my fish.

it would only hurt your fish if the paint goes into the fish tank, i would suggest to move them into another room. good luck with painting your room!

if the paint goes in water. Maybe but otherwise no.

I am a painter. We would always move the fish tank away from where we are to apply paint. If necessary, we would place the tank in the center on the room and place plastic over the top to prevent any debris or paint from going in the water. make sure to make sure th fish are getting air. Otherwise, I doubt the air will be that contaminated by fumes and we have never had issues with the fumes killing fish.

i would move the fish or put a fish bowl lid with holes on so the fish can still still brethe
