As a first bike, Diane? Sorry, NO Ducati is a reasonable choice for a novice rider. You should start on something smaller, and certainly something less expensive to repair. Most new rides drop their first bike once or twice. Dropping a Ducati is guaranteed to be especially expensive. Don't buy ANY bike before checking into what a novice rider (you!) will have to pay for insurance.
