I am looking for a news story that is between 2 and 6 years old. A frequent flier won some "free" tickets from one of the airlines. The stipulations on the tickets were so bad that he gave the tickets back, saying that the tickets weren't worth nearly what the airline purported them to be. The value that the airline had given the tickets was full retail. The ultimate answer was that he could have taken the tickets to a travel agency and had someone "appraise" the tickets and he would have payed taxes on the tickets based on that value. The winner's response was: "What if the IRS does not agree with the appraised value?" He said that he never bought tickets before that had such ridiculous stipulations and did not really want the tickets.
Whenever I try to google it, I get are advertisements or directions on how to get free tickets. I don't want free tickets; I want the news story. What search engine or website can I use where I can find the old story?
