I am looking for a new phone, i dropped my v557 about 8 feet to a concrete floor, it still works but reception is worse, i think it landed on the attenna
i checked out the se w300i and someone recommeded a motorola slvr

i prefer a flip phone. but the ones i have checked out seem very cheaply made
the v557 had a good feel to it

i am self employed and i need a phone with good reception and long battery life

i prefer a phone with a external attenna, get better reception with them in my house

i am on cingular


anyone have one of these?

If you routinely drop phones, get a cheap one like the Nokia 1100. Mine gets dropped from counter to floor routinely and still works like a charm. If it gets broke, oh well -- it is cheap. Buy one from Tracfone for $10 and have it reflashed. Better yet, buy two.

i was standing on a ladder when i answered a call and when i tried to put it back into its pouch i dropped it
i should not have took the call
 
Can't you just get a replacement antenna? I know on the V635 the exterior stub just screws out...if you think thats the problem with it then try replacing that.
