I read this about 6-8 years ago, cant remember the name or the author.
What I remember:
Its a Western, the main character is named McAllister(not sure about spelling) A group of outlaws are chasing him after he killed one of them. They shoot him and he falls into a canyon, hes later found by a ranchers daughter and her protector, i think.
They take him to a trading post, McAllister recovers. The outlaws arrive. Gun battle ensures. Good guys win. McAllister chases and kills the surviving bad guys.
