...floating bodies.? I read this book a few years ago and can't remember the title. It is the first in a series of books written in the 70's, I think. The character ends up in a world of reincarnated people, arranged in groups by the times that they lived. The people in this world are on 2 sides of a river that bisects the entire world. A character claiming to be Samuel Clemens eventually comes into the series, but I can't remember if he is in the first book. Please help! Thanks
