I am Legend link to Shrek

My brother-in-law pointed out today a possible reason for Will Smith to be watching Shrek in I am Legend.

The film is about Vampires, and the actor who played Dracula in an silent film in the 1930s was Max Shreck!

Not heard of this connection before, anyone else considered of this?

As for that scene with the movie in I am Legend, cringeworthy. Done so much better in Omega Man when the character is watching a film, think it was WooRABtock or something like that.

Or the fact that Shrek was a character who lived alone for ages and was grumpy when he had to deal with living with other people....
just like Will Smiths character, who lived by himself for ages, and was really hostile to when he discovered other people??!!
