Whenever the Islamic Center issue comes up. CNN always takes the pro-protest stance. Part of that is because I think you guys don’t get a lot of viewpoints from both sides.
Here's my viewpoint.

I support building the Community center that is two blocks from Ground Zero. I do not understand the proximity argument that many protesters have made.
Innocent Muslims have also died in the 9/11 attack. They are as much victims of the attacks as everyone else. Imans throughout the world have condoned the actions of these terrorists. The vast majority, and i mean like 99.99% of Muslims, are against the terrorists. Muslims are in opposition to terrorists as much as Christians are to the KKK or Hitler. Many of the protestors are opposed to the community center because they do not like Islam and are spreading their misconceptions and the others, I believe, are misinformed. They do not understand that, like mayor Bloomberg say that “Islam is a peaceful religion followed by peace loving people”. If culture doesn’t get in the picture (Saudi Arabia). Many say that If Islam is a peaceful religion then why can’t they respect the sensitivity and move the C.S. My response to that is that Muslims are as much victims of the 9/11 attacks as everyone else. Us, mainstream moderate Muslims view Osama Bin Laden, Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and extremist radicals the same way Christians view Hitler and the Nazi’s. I see some of the signs and comments that the protestors have made on CNN. They’ve made some signs denouncing Sharia, which is completely unrelated to the community center, and making comments like the C.S. “is a breeding ground for terrorists”. That is just totally false and I cant believe CNN would put it in one of their articles. Terrorists believe that the U.S. is at war with Islam, and building a C.S. that includes a mosque near G.Z. completely denounces their Ideology. It shows that Americans are tolerant and open to Islam. I believe that some of the protestors are secreting their thoughts about Islam by creating the sensitivity issue and demanding it be moved. How far do you think they want it to be moved? Out of long island, New York, the US?
I applaud Obama for standing up for the little guy even though he knows that he will lose poll numbers.
If they want to talk about insensitivity?
How insensitive do you think the Arabs think America is for funding Israel as they continue to strip the Palestinians of their land, homes, businesses, way of life?
Have you seen the Wikileak video's showing US forces killing innocent civilians and calling them Monkeys, racial slurs, and laughing as they try to run away.
Or do you remember the us army getting free copies of the Quran from local mosques and using them for toilet paper?
A true American recognizes the authority of the Constitution, including the freedom of religion. Everything else is background noise. You either believe in freedom, or you don't.
