It is below freezing today here in Chicago, and I rolled down my power window on the rear passenger side and to my dismay it would not return up. The car in kept in a warm garage (~50 degrees F). When I try to lift the window, I can hear the motor hum, but it will not go upward. My question today is twofold. First, can I get the window in the up position manually by removing the interior so the car is serviceable for the next week or two? Second, is this a job for the dealer or can any mechanic/auto body place take care of this? Is it something that I can do on my own? I am fairly handy as I have tinkered on car engines. I have never done this before. I would appreciate any assistance in advance!

you should be able to lift it with panel off,,,theres a ladder thing and a motor gear...they are plastic and strip easy...once you look you may see the problem right away
