I own a 2003 Suzuki Grand Vitara, manual transmission. During the summer while i was driving it, it felt like my handbrake was up, although it was down. The brake pedal hardened. And now it's gotten worst, it just doesn't move with the handbrake or down and i can't even push in the brake pedal. Sometimes it does matter how much i accelerated, it just won't move, it even smokes up if i accelerate to much. I tried putting it in to 4WD and still it doesn't move. And the smell after is just horrible. Its almost as if something, somewhere in the car is burning. I get back on the i have to leave it cool off for a good half an hour. I have also notice that when i am running low on gas it gets even worst. Can someone please help me? What should i do?
I almost forgot. It also has problems going up a hill in 2nd an 3rd gear. And if i am driving fast and in 5th gear on the highway it slows down and starts grumble (the sound is like when a flat tire).
