If you're arguing against zoos, the approach I'd take is referencing Darwinism with respect to humans and animals having common ancestry. And then you could say, since we have a common ancestor, it follows that we're entitled to many of the same basic rights, and we don't believe in doing this to people.

Personally, I think the Pro-Zoo viewpoint has a lot going for it, and there's where I stand as well, but if you're arguing against zoos I think the best thing you can do is stick to blurring the line between people and animals. That will make a strong case.

are you on the pro or cons side? Are you suppose to have answers about why they should be kept in the zoo or why they should not be kept in the zoo?

Well first find out; why are animals sent to the zoo anyway! Could be because they were endangered; where they were living at previously but look it up and you'll be fine!

and if you're looking for why they should not be in the zoo; well, confinement; they aren't really in their natural habitat. something of the sort

animals live longer in zoo's and they also get fed. however, they are then not in there natural environment
