...closing~what are my options? I am currently attending a career college in Ohio that has just announced they are closing in September. Because it is a career college, very few, if any credits transfer to other schools. I am almost done with school, I've been attending for four years and have racked up $35,000 in financial aid debt! (If I knew then what I know now, I would have realized that their tuition is astronomical!) My question is, what are my options? I am in the process of contacting Sallie Mae, my loan holder, to see if I can dispute the loan. Am I eligible to get any money back? I cannot work in my field without a degree, and state testing. I, and other students feel like we have just spent years of our lives and money and will have nothing to show for it. Should we contact an attorney to get money back (there is nothing we can do about the time lost). The school has an affiliated career college another hour away from my house that they want students to transfer to, do we have to? Someone please help!
