I am confused - I am disabled, my right leg is weak and i have a 3 wheel bike?

after doing some research, someone told me to buy a clip less foot pedal on my right pedal. My confusion is that I do not know the meaning of "Clip less" vs "Non-Clipless" foot pedal. My problem is that my right foot keeps slipping off the pedal as I push down and I get to the bottom and I try to return upward. What i need is some kind of pedal that keeps my foot intact every time I push down
I have a 3 wheel tricycle for a disabled person and when i bought the tricycle I never asked about the pedal situation and when I did he sold me a pedal strap that I am not sure if you call it "Clip less" or "Non-Clipless" ?

I forgot to mention one thing about 13 years ago I had a major stroke on my entire right side, Everything (90 %) has come back except my right leg down to my foot has not gotten better. My podiatrist has built a special sneaker for me that includes a brace on my right side, that is why I can't afford a new type of sneaker, I would be faced with developing a new type of shoe that would include a special brace also. So be it as it may, which of the other two would you recommend ?

thanks again
Ron

Get a set of pedals with the straps. You should be able to fasten your right foot firmly to the pedal. For the left side you can have it just lose enough to slip your foot in and out but it will allow you to use more of the muscles in your legs to pedal.

ok, a flat pedal is the kind you remember from back in the day. bmx or cruiser style. probably what you have on your bike right now. clips = those cages built onto the pedal you slip your foot into to hold it in place. clipless are kind of like what holds a ski boot onto the ski binding. they require a special shoe and if you already wear a special shoe and a need that brace, then your probably not going to fit into them. maybe you could have your shoe modified to have a clip built in but i think it would be a pain in the ass. i think your best bet is to keep exercising with what you have. keep your head up, eyes forward not down, keep pedaling and remember that if it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger.

a clipless pedal "clips" your shoe to the pedal, so it wont fall off. to get a clipless pedal, you need a clipless shoe (maybe an insert from your doctor put into one), and a clipless pedal. the strap is not clipless.

PS-next time, look this up on google.
