medium we choose, trying to chose? So, the art class I will be taking requires us to have HB & 2B drawing pencils and a sketchpad, both of which I have. But we're allowed to bring an additional medium of our choosing if we want to work with color. I'm trying to choose what to bring. I get picky though, I'd like something portable, with little clean-up. I'd like something that I could mix colors, and blend easily. I'd also like something versatile, because I get bored with a medium that can only do one type of painting, and something portable because I'm taking it to camp. I work in watercolor paints usually, but I wanted to try something new. Any idea's?

I'm a beginner, and still working on proportions and all that fun stuff, so something that can be erased, or drawn/painted over is also nice :D

Any idea's? Help and tips are appreciated, thanks!
Sorry about miss-spelling choose in the Question by the way, I ran out of characters.

I agree that pastels may be your best choice. You can buy kits of various sizes, depending on how many colors you choose to carry. With smaller, basic kits, you do your own blending of colors on the paper and can be quite fun. Set up time is zero, and clean up time is as fast as wiping your hands.

No, you can't draw or paint over, but half the fun of learning is being able to start over and get back to that point quickly.

If you go this route, be sure to pick up a couple of kneaded erasers, a pack or two of tissues and, if you want to preserve your finished pieces, a can of fixative. You can carry all this in a small fanny pack or something similar. With a messenger bag to carry your paper, other sketch materials and you are ready to go.
