i am about to buy a 1984 chevy with a dodge slant 6 wat are the ups and downs?

they guy swears on slant 6 engines, he has done all the work putting new valves and such in only problems is gas gauge doesnt work, it leaks oil wen it sits, and its going to need a new clutch
