...what should I choose to eat? I have recently stopped eating meat, although I do still eat fish, dairy, eggs etc. In the past I would have chosen a mild chicken dish if dining in an Indian restaurant, something like a korma or chicken tikka biriyani. I am currently trying to lose weight so I want to avoid anything too creamy as well as avoiding meat. I don't like dishes that are too hot, I want to be able to taste the flavours rather than just feeling the heat.

Fish will be okay cus its healthy & won't make u fat. Also try ordering vegetable dishes.

Have you considered becoming an "opportunistic vegan" or "Free-gan"? We don't eat meat, fish, dairy, or anything else man has exploited cute animals for...UNLESS it has been thrown in a dumpster first.

Its a great compromise in that you can still enjoy the same level if smug moral superiority that you are used to, all the while you can benefit from the tasty satisfaction of eating the flesh of an animal!

Now I know what you are thinking...I am not sure I want to dig in the trash for a meal....Read on.

What I like to do so that I can maintain my sanctimonious upper-hand among my peers and eat a meaty cheeseburger in the comfort of my own home is to buy a separate "garbage can" that I keep completely clean. Then, you pretend "throw away" the cheeseburger that you had just prepared (just lie the plate inside the garbage can -- which I remind you is clean). Next, make-believe that you are going to just check the garbage to see if anything has been thrown out...LO AND BEHOLD! Someone has thrown out a whole cheeseburger! And its still WARM. Well, we wouldnt want that poor cow to have died and given his meaty body for it to go to waste now, would we? Proceed to rescue the delicious burger from the "trash" and enjoy -- GUILT-FREE :)

At the Indian restaurant, you have two choices available. 1. Bring a fake garbage can and put it under the table. Order whatever everyone else says is the best. When your friends aren't lookin, just put your plate of food in the garbage for a sec, then its good to go. Option #2.: Ask your server politely if they would give you some food out of the garbage in the kitchen or rummage around out back in the dumpster (this scenario merits extra gratuity). This option could help if you are a little timid to throw your meal out in front of your friends, and you can save face explaining your new lifestyle.

Get a masala dosa/ai

They are crepes with vegetables (usually potatoes or onions)

REALLY GOOD!

You haven't "stopped eating meat" if you still eat fish. Fish is meat.
You've just stopped eating other kinds of meat, but you still eat fish.
They made up this label of pescetarian when they wanted a label for people that don't go vegetarian but still want to act like they are.

That aside, it's just one meal...I'm sure there will be lots of options there, especially at an Indian restaurant, that don't involve meat. Most Indian restaurants have vegetarian options.
