...cycles.? The meds my doctor gives me dont help my nasea and vomiting. It has been awful. I will start my next cylce, which will be every week now for 12 more weeks. I want to know if smoking is safe for me or any baked goods? I have lost too much weight. im just want to know if there is anyone out there who has tried it? Im so desperate. after all this chemo, i will then have surgery.thank you.

I too went through a lot of difficulty with chemo side effects. I didn't try smoking although many people suggested it, including my son who was trying to grow it in a drawer in his room under a regular light bulb. Claimed he was growing it was for me.... (LOL)

If you have having trouble keeping food down, smoking would be easier to tolerate at least at first to get your symptoms under control.

Good luck to you. I'm coming up on my 7 year anniversary.

Have you told your oncologist that the meds are not working? There should be something else they can give you to help. It sounds like you are about to start a new chemo and you may find that this one doesn't affect you so much nausea wise. You are halfway through, hang in there. It's revolting but it will be over soon.

Good luck.

This is one of those circumstances where medical marijuana can be more effective than prescription medication. If this is what you are thinking about, it would be worth a try. Eating it in baked goods takes a while to work and it spreads the dosage over several hours. Smoking can rapidly provide a very large dose, but the effects start to wear off within an hour, but additional doses can be taken as needed. Smoking is likely to be most effective, but maybe a combination of smoking and baked goods would work best. I have not had the pleasure of chemotherapy to know how well this works.

My friends aunt went through the same thing. A year ago, she found out she had stage 3 cancer of the breast. Since we live in an area where marijuana is illegal, that was not an option. She got really sick from the chemo and had to be hospitalized twice for a high fever. After the chemo was over, she, like you, had the surgery, she opted to have both breasts removed, and after a few radiation treatments, she is now cancer free and doing great. Never give up hope, and if you live where marijuana is legal, then by all means, take advantage of this.
