i am 15, writing a book, how long should it be?

and also how should i go about publishing it, if i ever finish it. I don't want to sound up myself at all, it just would be pretty cool to get a book published even if no one ever reads! :P It will only be very short, but i am wondering whats the shortest a publisher will accept.
