I always have weird (sometimes disturbing) dreams? what does this dream mean?

so now in school, i'm study edgar allan poe's short stories. last night, i was in (in my dream) a dungeon lit by torches trying to rescue a piece of beef jerky. I had to defend the castle but at the same time fulfill my mission, which was to obtain the jerky and....this part is a bit unclear...something else, another part of my mission.

while trying to defend the castle, my friend is shot by an arrow and there is a commentator on his death: three of his major organs are punctured, and he dies almost immediately. but i feel "bulletproof" so of course i go ahead and fight despite just seeing my friend being killed ( by the way, it wasn't clear who this friend was...but he must not have been very important to me). of course, my dreams are very realistic, so i am soon shot by an arrow. I know i will die and that there is no escape, so i still down on the ground and wait for my death.

I actually FELT the arrow puncture my skin and my blood drain from my body. then, a few minutes later, I am told by Hermes (yes the greek god) that i will actually survive and what was i doing wasting time. so i pull the arrow out of my stomach and walk around like i'm drunk, asking for blood donations. Hermes tells me to stop being a wimp, i'll soon recover from all the blood i lost. then i leave my dream, i remember my real life's story and "regain consciousness". do you think this dream is disturbing or what? I have these kinds of dreams almost every night

I think it's an awesome dream! I don't know if I can interpret it, but ... still pretty cool.

The dungeon probably represents your subconscious, and you're on some kind of mission to defend the castle, which represents your life, and get a piece of beef jerky, which is pretty funny, but there is something it represents in your subconscious, your memories, your thoughts, that you feel you want to "preserve" (I believe it would be considered preserved meat). And not knowing what else was part of the mission may mean you're a little unclear about your true mission in life, you maybe don't have a clear goal for your life.

Your friend is shot by an arrow, and arrows represent having a goal or target, so I think it's related to the mission. It's also about feeling invaded, that some boundaries have been crossed and caused damage. Your friend could represent "others" or some aspect of yourself, and his organs are punctured, according to the commentator. The specific organs usually each have their own meaning. Hearts, for example, should be obvious. Lungs might be about inspiration, spleen is about negativity. A commentator probably represents some sort of observer, some record being made of what's going on in your life.

You feel invincible, which reflects how you feel in waking life. Maybe you are impetuous and don't think of the dangers before you act. But you are soon shot by an arrow. Knowing you will die is about seeing that you will undergo a large change, and feeling there is no escape, and it seems you give up and are ready to go. Feeling blood drain means you feel you are losing life force.

Hermes being a messenger might mean you got some sort of message of encouragement in life, a sort of pep talk perhaps. You acting drunk might mean you felt not yourself for a while, sort of under the influence, and ask for help from others.

Hope some of that made sense to you!
