I have a previous T-Mobile Motorola V3 RAZR it was on a $40/month single user plan. I now have an unlocked blackberry that i'm using it on. So my extra razr is going to another young family member. I want to give a little 12 year old cousin a phone. Is it possible for me to just pop in a pre-paid sim card into the phone loaded with minutes from a "T-Mobile Refill Card" because i just want to give him a starter phone and not continously pay for a monthly "prepaid" plan..

can i just pop in a pre-paid sim and it works? or do i have to buy a prepaid phone and a prepaid sim for it to work?
