I accidentally used the wrong setting on the washing machine.. help!?

I forgot to set it as a small load but it was still set as a large load so now my clothes are dripping water and soaking wet. so should I put some towels in there and set it for a large load or set it for a medium size load and rewash them in the medium setting? Please help!
