Hypno therapy Does it work?

Just kinda wondering has anyone been to a phd and got hipnotized for anxiety i heard that a couple of people have gone and it has worked like been more than a year work with no meRAB can it really work because im going on tuesday .. all questions and comment welcome!!:wave:
 
Just wondering if you tried this and whether it was effective or not?

There are a lot of hypnotherapists advertising themselves in my area, and most seem to list anxiety as one of the main things they deal with?

At the stage where SSRI does not seem to be working, and have been taking a benzo just that little bit too long to continue, so really need to explore another avenue.
 
I feel the same as you Lymphpre.

Aren't our thoughts and feelings and beliefs the main cause of our anxieties? I feel that hypnosis can be effective in this regard.

I too would like to explore this avenue but need to hear from others who have already traveled down this road before.
 
So i finally went to the Therapist and he had me do a series of things like close my eyes and talk to me told me things were going to be ok asked what i was feeling i told him it was emotional and physical pain he did this treatment that made me feel like i was in kindergarten doing the hokey pokey but you know when i went in there he asked me how i felt on a scale of one to 10 and i said 9 so we did this hokey pokey thing and after the session i was down to a 2-3 this is a self technique you can do all day at any time and as for me right now im always around the one area and i do all of this on 2 ml of diazepam and i had it pretty hard if you read my story on all of my other threaRAB i hope this helps you because it did me i FEEL GREAT YEE HAA HOPE YOU DO TO.
 
well its been a third time to the Phd and i've learned some techniques that help alot he really did'nt hipnotize me at least i don't think but i do recall that everytime i feel anxtious or overwhelmed i tend to do these exercises and then wamo i feel great always have breakfast lunch and dinner its a must if you wanna feel better coffee is bad and so is caffeine things that you used to eat and do dont do anymore and everything is in the subcontious mind these techniques reteach your subcontious mind more like reprogram if any questions ask it helps me alot i mean im not anxiety free or nothing but it sure is nice to be back to a normal life..
