Hypermobility Syndrome anyone?

Anyone out there with Hypermobility Syndrome? If so, I'd love to chat.

I had some shoulder problems about 2 years ago. I was finally diagnosed with Shoulder Impingement Syndrome with bursitis and tendonitis caused by constant joint subluxations (small dislocations) from weak, hypermobile ligaments. It's not "curable".

A few months ago, I started having problems in both hips. It was diagnosed as bursitis caused by joint instability.

Last week, I was diagnosed with TMJ. Again, caused by jaw joint instability due to the weak jaw joint ligaments.

I've got tightness of muscles in various areas of my body because the muscles are trying to compensate for the loose ligaments.

I'm in my late 30's and seem to be having an awful lot of joint issues all of the sudden. I didn't have at all them when I was younger. I really wonder what other issues I should expect as I get older. Right now, I'm ending up with specialists for each joint that is having problems. Are there a specific type of specialist I should be looking to for overall help? Are there things I should be doing to lessen the effects of the hypermobility?

Interesting post, MountainReader. I have all of those same complaints and you are right I think I see a different doc for each one just about. I'd be interested to know if there is an "all inclusive" doctor for all of these pains. I'll let you know if I come up with something. painfulneck
