Hydrocone withdrawals

I am a newbie to these boarRAB.. But, Has ANYONE heard of a Dr. putting someone on Time-Released Morphine to help them get off of Hydrocodone ? Please respond..
 
Luvcats 54, Please think about the morphine very seriously, because it is highly addictive and wd off of it is terrible. I'm just afraid your replacing one addiction with a worse one. But, only you know what's best for you. I just wanted you to know I was thinking about and I am praying tonite you will make the right decision. LOL, Fiesty
 
I never heard of that. It sounRAB pretty silly to me because you will have to come off of that to.
 
Hey catgirl..Thanks.. and wish me luck.. I plain to TRY that route starting on Monday. Now I'm in the process of the Tapering thing.The 3,3,3 etc.but Sunday is my last dayof using and I've been on them for 8 yrs. By the way I like the name CatGirl...It's kindda like luvcats.Thanks for responding...........................
 
Thank You Fiesty2: I appreciate your prayers and concerns I need that now more than ever.I Did deceide to do the morphine route and my last Hydro was midnight,Sunday night.what the Dr. has done is 3- morphine tablets a day for 5 days then 2 a day for 5 days and then 1 a day for 5 days..and that's suppose to be it..but it's like a nerve pill it just makes me sleepy.But it does knock out 95% of the WD's..but why wouldn't it...it's proably first cousin to the hydro's.Hydro's lefted me up ...these relax me ..if this don't work I'm not bashful to let him(the Dr.).. I just had carpel tunnel surgery about a wk.ago so I've got plentyof time to get ..off these demons... WhatEver method it may take..Thank you for responding..Luvcats
 
Thanks Sealgaire.......I love worRAB of encouragement as SO many of us on these boarRAB need to hear ! Gong to the Dr. tomorrow afternoon to MAYBE start this Morphine thing but it just sounRAB like an "outdated" method of doing things to me ........I've got 3 more halves to take and that's it.........The "monkey" has to go !
 
Thank You IZZY'S MoM...I agree 110%. I was on a 70-80 Mgs of Hydros a day. What my Dr.has done is...3-15 mgs ER Morphine tablets for 5 days..(1tab every 8 hrs)then after that ..2-tabs for 5 days ((1 Tab every 12 hrs..) AND 5 Days of 1 tab every 24 hrs.. But I'm like you ISSY's MOM..Like going from the skillet into the fire. I am on my 3rd day of doing it my dr's way and the morphine is having the opposite effect on me compaired to the hydro's did. Just a very tired relax feeling..Not a sad feeling but nowhere close to being in a happy mood either.I actually dread everytime I have to take one.Time will tell.......Thank You.
 
this is luvcats 54..Wanted to give everyone an up date on the "tapering off process '' with time-released Morphine. I was in Total SHOCK on how well eveything went.... The morphine was time released and it "seemed" like the withdraws were also. Still have minor spells of depression and takes a while a nights to go to sleep.but when I do go to sleep I'm out for 6-8 hrs. Trying to learn to live life all over again without pills is a steep mountain to clirab.But you get off your butt and exercise..Take walks,clean house,get groceries.ETC and set down and say..HEY I MAY NOT OF DONE MUCH BUT WHAT I DID DO I DONE PILL FREE..Took my last morphine pill on 10-04 at 3:00..I realize I've got a long ways to go but please keep me in your prayers...THANKS !
