So, I started dabbling, I'll admit that. I wouldn't say it got out of hand or anything, and this doesn't necessarily belong in the addictions board. I started being prescribed hydrocodone for sinus headaches, and have had a few frienRAB help me out when I decided to make it recreational. I had noticed after a period of time that taking these pills would give me heartburn, and make my voice very raspy.

About two weeks ago, I started getting a sensation like there was something caught in my throat, almost like I tried (and failed at) swallowing a hair or something. It's not painful, but as a regular smoker, certainly my mind wanders into the cancer realm. My question to the board is if they have heard of vocal hoarseness and my stuck in throat feeling occurring from taking hydrocodone?

Any help would be appreciated.

Prescription 'narcotic' painkillers are a HUGE culprit of causing heartburn and acid reflux - repeated use can cause severe damage to the lining of your stomach and esophogus. Try stopping the Hydrocodone and starting on Prilosec OTC daily to see if that helps heal the damage and take the heart burn away.

Best of luck to you.
