•An athlete may be classed as a sprinter and this may mean they can enter more than one event, for example they may enter the 100 meter race and the 200 meter race and even the hurdles.
•A list of all the events being held, the name of the event, the start date and finish date and where it is being held (venue).
•A list of all the venues being used, there will be a number of venues including several stadiums, swimming pools, hockey pitches etc, you need to record the name of the venue, its location and the seating capacity. The number of seats sold and the number available.
•All athletes have been allocated accommodation in Delhi, There are two types of accommodation. There are a number of tower blocks, each individually named and within the blocks are flats that sleep between one and four competitors. There are also small chalets which again sleep between one and four competitors.
•The results for each event need recording; this includes the event name, whether it is the heats or the final, the winner and placing for all competitors. This means that the system must be able to produce results for individual competitors (or teams) and also results for every event. It is also important that for every event not only the athletes’ name but the name of the country they represent is recorded.
