People think if you wife request, it will for divorce it will be easy to get divorce. Is it right?
My case is both parties are agreed for divorce initially and they exchanged their items. But now the wife parents are not ready to file a petition in court and they are demanding huge money from husband. But husband didnt get any money at the time of marriage. Still wife parents are demanding money. So he want to file a divorce petition in court. Is it helpful for him? or what are the problems he will be face after approching the court.
This case is from india and both are doing jobs. They dont have common property, he has some property before marriage only. after marriage they dont have any thing.

Are you asking if the wife's request for a divorce carries more weight in court than if the husband is filing? It does not.

If your husband has filed for divorce, the process has begun and only he an halt it. Depending on what the laws are in your state, you may only have about 6 months before his request and your divorce is final. In that time there will be opportunities for you to file responses regarding separation of assets/liabilities; child custody issues, alimony and child support issues.

Hope this clarifies things... if money is an issue, seek free legal help. Most cities offer free legal help through their libraries. Do not do nothing and then watch him walk away with more than is his fair share. Protect yourself!
