Meet the cast of Huntik: Secrets and Seekers

The Huntik Foundation:

Lok Lambert was just a normal, fun-loving high school kid, struggling to stay awake in his classes and wishing for a life of adventure. After finding his father's Amulet and becoming a Seeker, Lok puts his enthusiasm, intuition and natural talent to the test as he is introduced to Sophie Casterwill, Dante Vale, and the world of Seekers in Huntik. A childhood playing games with his father has gifted Lok Lambert with an uncanny knack for puzzles, and now Lok takes on ancient riddles every day of the week. Learning under fire, Lok improves by leaps and bounds, on his way to becoming a top Huntik Seeker. When he needs a hand, he calls on Cherit, a capricious winged Titan who is filled with wise advice on the ancient world of Titans and Seekers.

Sophie Casterwill is a book-smart, athletic, honorable and clever young lady of about Lok's age. She seems to be quite proper and mature, but she's not afraid to dish out some punishment when the action gets rolling. Sophie thinks that what she learns in books can prepare her for the real world, and that gets her into trouble. As the last surviving noble of the Casterwill family, Sophie has been raised from birth to be a Seeker. She is not actually part of the Huntik Foundation, but they have an alliance based on the need to fight evil. When talking gets to nowhere, Sophie Casterwill uses powerful attack and defense magic along with Sabriel, an elegant Titan that favors speed over brawn.

As the top Operative of the Huntik Foundation, Dante Vale is the king of treasure hunters. With the mind of a hard-boiled detective, the body of an extreme sports athlete and the nerves of a cowboy gunslinger at High Noon, Dante leads the team and serves as a big-brother to Lok. Dante Vale is the Huntik Foundation's top Seeker and the leader of the adventuring group of Lok, Sophie, and Zhalia. Known worldwide for his wit, strength, and collection of powerful Titans, Dante is a friend to every hero and an enemy to every villain. Along with his signature Titan, the powerful Caliban, Dante Vale has played an enormous role in several major events in the modern Seeker world.

Zhalia Moon is a tough, streetwise, elegant and a capable lone wolf, always ready to take on her team's good humor with her sharp tongue and sarcasm. Few understand the true Zhalia Moon. The variety of roles she has played in the lives of those around her is vast: orphan, daughter, protege, operative, villain, hero, and friend.

The Organization:

The ultimate dominator, The Professor lives to control. He is capable of being sly and manipulative, but rarely has to resort to such actions. Normally, the absolute fear he inspires is enough. The Professor has no ethics, and will do anything to expand The Organization and his power base. He is also the type who likes to manage every facet of The Organization himself, and make every decision personally. If any of his underlings fail him, he will not hesitate to have them removed.

Defoe is a scheming, self-proclaimed mastermind. He leads the small force ordered to track down Lok?s journal and demands total obedience, even though his tactics often put his own men in serious danger. Defoe is willing to do anything to complete his missions, no matter how depraved and evil. Alongside his loyal right-hand man, Grier, DeFoe's mission has been the same for months: track Dante Vale and his team of Huntik Foundation Seekers and stop them from interfering in the Organization's plans. With endless hatred, Huntik DeFoe pursues Dante and friends using his squad of Suit operatives, his signature Titan, the venomous Kreutalk, and an array of poisonous powers.

Grier serves as Defoe's right hand man. Rarely speaking, he seems to be an ordinary thug at first, but he carries himself with a subtle nobility. Grier believes that with The Organization's domination, there will come universal order that will keep all people in line and prevent wars. In combat, Grier uses magic that makes him faster and much stronger than any normal human. With him fights Breaker, a mighty Titan that hits hard with a combination of strength and speed.

f_Suits2m_d49ea14.png

The Suits are the lowest minions of The Organization. Dressed in dark suits, they are the pawns Organization operatives use to achieve their nefarious goals. The Suits' greatest asset is their sheer numbers, but they also make capablespies and are excellent at information gathering. In battle, The Suits fight with a variety of magic and Titans. Just as The Organization brings about cold, unfeeling order with the help of savage evil deeds, its troops fight both with the cold Mindrone and the savage Redcap.

Huntik: Secrets & Seekers "Crawling the Catacombs" Talkback (Spoilers)

This was an interesting episode. I learned some stuff here and I enjoyed the fighting scenes. The Pok?Ball noises make me laugh though because it's a funny sound. My only problem though is that the villains are kind of boring. I expect them to become better as the series continues.

The animation has greatly improved in this episode. No more awkward running cycles or stock fighting footage.

Nice cliff hanger ending, it especially helps that they don't even show previews for the next week, although in any other case, that would be completely annoying.

I thought that this was a pretty interesting episode myself. I liked how they added in Joan of Arc and made her into a Seeker. That was just beyond cool. I also really liked how there were some intense puzzles for team to solve. It works well for the exploring part of their work and it can be just as intense as some of the fights.

Lok was really lucky twice in this episode. Dante also proves how tough and strong he is by always challenging the Organization in order to buy the rest of the team some time. I'm also really starting to like the rivalry vibe I'm getting from Sophie and Zhalia. It feels like they're pretty much opposites and it builds up some interesting tension between them.

I thought that the design for the catacombs was really good and creepy. The cliffhanger ending also worked really well into increasing more the of the intensity. I'll be really happy next week to see what happens to them.

Still in the middle of the episode (Taped it) and I have to fail the episode. I noticed that Lok cheated in his Chess game with Cherit. The Knight can only move like an "L" (2 spaces one way, and then 1 more space to the side). But when Lok moved, he went 3 spaces ahead and then (his right) 3 more spaces. That's a Fail. But even by cheating, he still got whooped by Cherit. Which turns it into an Epic Fail.

Here are my thoughts on this ep:

1. As they were entering that passageway, I was very relieved that Lok summoned his flying titan when he fell through that trap door.

2. Sophie & Zhalia don't seem to like each other much.

3. I thought the fight between Dante & Defoe was great. It sure gave Lok enough time to figure out how to open Notre Dame's secret door.:D

4 I was very relieved Lok solved that puzzle cube in time before he would've been killed in that trap room! I was also amazed when it released a small titan for Lok. It should come in handy later on.:)

5. The action against those "Ring of Arc" knights sure was exciting! I also loved how Lok mastered his "Hyper Stride" ability. I felt sorry for Sophie when she passed out after she used all her power to dismantle them.:( It's also a shame they couldn't take the ring because of the curse attached to it.

A very exciting ep. 4 stars. I just hope they can figure out how to break the ring's curse and make it out before the Organization gets to them. :ack:

Well, being as that's the cliffhanger, this 'episode' isnt over yet. So we dont know who's getting the ring yet. But i'm fairly certain someone is going to take that ring out regardless of the curse. We just dont know which side is getting it. I'm almost hoping Lok gets it. He needs a powerfull creature. Freelancer seems like a low-level creature. Unlike Caliban and Sabriel. Kipperman doesnt count because the only thing that things good for is flying.

I hope they expand on this and make it into a real rivalry. I think that it would make the group dynamic more interesting with both girls trying to out do the other.

This episode was impressive, not great and it had it’s flaws but impressive and it made it certain that I’m going to keep watching this show.

Anyway it looks like there is something up with the Casterwell family, probably dark secrets in their past, very dark secrets. Dante made a comment in the second episode and now Zhalia commented about it.

Anyway it’s always a risk to add in real world history into a show and to add real life figures into the show’s history and so far I’m liking it. I hope it keeps up.

Also the summoning scenes were a lot better this episode, less distracting.

I though it was a great episode and I am really starting to care for the characters, thats the mark of great writing! The episodes plot flowed well and the fight scenes were great, but this shows mark is the fantastic animation, it's soooo goood!!

Well, the series is improving; although it still feels like someone's first attempt at storytelling, things are moving along, and the vistas are getting more interesting. It's also reminding me quite a bit of the Broken Sword adventure game series and Don Rosa's Uncle Scrooge, which is a very good thing.

Random thoughts:

Catacombs, churches, and corpses? Oh my! I'm super-glad that these things can once again appear on Saturday morning cartoons. More, please.

Mike Pollock as the Professor? Win. It seems like forever since he's had a serious dramatic role.

When I heard that that this episode was about Joan of arc I expected them to tip toe around the religous aspect of the character. I was plesently surprised when they did not.
