I walked in and this asian guy who worked there had 1 of 6 wiis in his hand and then another guy walked up with 24 more and I said... give me 2 then when we went to ring out they didn't register in the system.
The manager then came and said that they culdnt be released till dec because of an ad that shows them on the cover.

Well long story short I was able to reserve them because it was there mistake.

Went to 2 other walmarts and thye have the full stocked with 30 however they can't be sold till dec 6th so be there fuckers!

So its true they do hold on to them to meet the ads promotion. Gay but whatever...now u know.

I was only able to because the dumb asses put them out for sale and got on the speaker deal for whole stoe and said "get em while there hot! The new nintendo wii!" the dumb bitch owned her self and then was told to reserve systems for all who heard which was only 4 people.

Other walmarts could not reserve

Every Wal Mart I've talked to has said Dec. 6th is when they are expecting their next shipment. There's a rumor going around that the local store will be putting some on the shelf at midnight tonight, but I'm not getting high hopes for that.

The ad is most likely a Special Buy with a specific UPC of which only one shipment is made. The ones's going on the shelf at midnight most likely are normal Wii's, not Secial Buys which will are restricted at POS by date. If it's the monthly tab, it's going to be a Sunday release (unless the ad has a special footer for specific product: Wii that says available 12/6, not 12/3). They get their tab shipments at least 1 week prior to the tab going active.

Actually...I'd be viciously wary if they say it's going on sale at "midnight." If they have it on-hand, they're supposed to sell it (unless it's a tab item). If a store does say they have it and that it is going to be put out @ midnight, at least make them check to see if it's saleable at the register. Then ask them to justify why you can't buy it now (they can't justify that). They'll either stick to their plan or do the right thing; if they stick to their plan, you can call 1-800-walmart and file a complaint. Best case scenario is the home office contacts the store right away and remedies the problem. Worst case scenario is a $20 gift card and an apology.
