I gotta take a second to thank the ENTIRE MotoCorsa of Portland crew and Adam/Mike from Ducati North America!
As some know, Jason (Bluth, our rider) went down HARD in Seattle this past WMRRA race on Sunday. Well unfortunately due to extremely busy work week keeping us here till midnight...we overlooked one simple thing on repairing our Ducati 848 Superbike. The shifting!!!
Jason went out today for practice session 1......doesn't come around....FXXXK!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Then he rolls in hot pit slowly 'Well..its awesome in 1st..but no other gears" I immediately feel shifter...damn..this is not right..feels like a detent is broke or something. SHXT! Well lets load it up and try to see if we can fix it. We have heard of other Ducati having problems once they crash and i was afraid that we might miss this weekends OMRRA races in only 16 short hours!
I text Eric and AJ at MotoCorsa "just get it here" So i load it up...wait for track crossing and am off. We get to MotoCorsa and damn...i forgot they had their HUGE Ducati North America showcase/Party event...place is packed! Still they wave me into the service bay...AJ and myself immediately jump into it, stripping bike, etc. We spend about 30 mins looking and AJ finally sees it is the detent arm and the crash has caused it to bend. We source a used one from a customer that did not need...we put it in and BAM she shifts like butter (For the record, our 848 has ALWAYS shifted like perfection!!) and upon further looking, we see the after market flywheel we have installed damaged a thrust washer for the starter....SHxT!!! Well AJ and Eric tear place apart trying to find one...AJ finally does so! Installed and done!
I honestly was SO impressed with how much help and cool the ENTIRE MotoCorsa crew was and I could see that they too really wanted to make this happen! Here it was one of their busiest days and they still stopped to help us out. THATS why we are so happy to have them as our sponsor and Ducati shop!
Huge thanks to Mike and Adam at Ducati North America! These guys really helped out and said "lets just get it fixed, do whatever it needs" WOW...VERY VERY COOL!!! Just seeing them looking over our bike and complimenting the details we have done was cool cause you know they have seen it all!
Again guys i wish the beers were enough thanks...but just know that EVERYONE at EDR Performance is really happy to have you guys apart of our team!
