Hubcaps on aluminum rims?

I've lost two of the four center-caps for the aluminum rims on my truck, and its very displeasing to the eye. I was thinking of buying hubcaps for all four tires and just throwing the center-caps out, but then read that hubcaps may not fit aluminum rims.

So what is the case here? Can aluminum rims be fitted with hubcaps?
