Html won't work on a mac when i open it with Firefox, help?

I edit it in text edit, save it as a html file. When i open it with firefox i just get the text as if its ignoring html.

there is no difference (by all means) between the .html and the .htm file extensions

try saving it as .txt file instead and then modify the name to .html wherever you saved it and see if that works

HTML documents use the .htm extention.

Try "documentname.htm" instead.
