Hey I'm making a website for school and I want to use this image as a background.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j119/hadams00/Alex-Grey-as-flame.jpg

The problem is, it is very abstract and has lots of colors. Regular font would be hard to read.

So what my question is, is it possible to have a transparent white background behind the font to make it easier to read but still see the image?

Thanks
It's just plain HTML in notepad.
Nevermind, all I did was make the image very transparent with GIMP. With black font it looks fine. Thanks

Oops, sorry for all the posts.
Ha, thanks man.

If you like the artwork it's by a man named Alex Grey. He does some of the art work of the band Tool. I love this band and thought I'd include some of it in my site.

Thanks again.

That's a cool picture (almost like an eyeball), but as you said it is not a good background picture. What you could do is either darken or lighten a copy of the photo then use that for the background. To darken or lighten, you would need to have some sort of decent photo editing program. What you could try is a program called Gimp, which is a Photoshop comparable freeware program.

EDIT- Um, OK then. You beat me to it. Good luck with your site.
