HTML frames help please?

Ok so i made a web page and i broke it up into 3 frames at first I couldn't figure out how to make the two frame go away when I linked back to my home page so i figured out that you have to use a target="parent" tag but when ever I use this tag it opens up the new page in a window is there any way to link back to my home page but have the browser not open a new window? also for the two other frames not to be there
