HTML Data?

Interesting. I hope it kills the proxy...I would pay 15.00 bucks for that.

**EDIT**

Called Cricket, and big shocker they had no idea what I was talking about. Even talked to a supervisor. I'm very intrigued now.

they would have too in order to get pop3 email unless the apps they have work with 8080, and now i have tried, i will talk to the local tech team and see if they can added it on my account and i will see whats up. Still wondering how it got on this persons account she says that she never called CS and i know i sure as hell didnt added it on cause i cant evne add it take it off and i tried to add it on on her other phone line and no go.

Dude, it's gotta be for the Evoke..the things they are offering for it just couldn't be done with a proxy attached. Like myspace updates and such. Anytime you look up something on the Evoke it mentions "Full HTML browser" and Cricket now has "HTML data" plan.

I have had HTML Data on my account for a couple weeks at least, and so far I have not seen any difference... I have a habit of always switching the phone-type on my line over to the new phones, when they first appear in the phone-type list. I didn't realize it automatically added a $15 new feature for a few days, and this was a good surprise.. Now if only it would do something!

Anyway, so a I asked a friend that works at the cricket corp office/callcenter here in town, and she asked her supervisor, and was told it is a mandatory bolt-on for the QA4 (Evoke).

I asked specifically about the speed-throttle, and the mandatory proxy...

She found out that the "HTML Data" feature removes the speed throttle. There is apparanently a cap on total data transferred / month, something like 750 rab.

There was no proxy-stuff mentioned/related to HTML Data. I'm hoping there is, and it's jsut not called proxy, but maybe something else... They seemed surprised that I had the feature on my account, even though the phone is not out yet. This feature only seems to apply itself when your phone type is the MOTOROLA QA4 (aka Evoke). I don't think it's there on the QA30. It's also there on any plan type, even the $30/mo plan. I have not tried choosing the $30/mo plan, and seeing if internet is still there.. that would be first experiment though... after trying with no luck to get higher speeRAB and past the proxy.

And I have done some testing, and have not noticed any speed increase, nor any difference in proxy stuff either. I tried different proxy settings, like Socks, and even different proxy addresses I found through an 'nslookup mycricket.com'.

I'd *love* to get ahold of the browser proxy settings from the evoke... more specifically to see if they are gone, and not needed on that phone.

I thought as much, but yeah we would have to find out what it is, the thing is tho if it s750rab cap thats bad cause when i get bord at home i watch a lot of YouTube videos and stuff and i know for a fact that i would go over 750rab hell on my SPrint BB it says for my Data i use about like 3GB of data lol XD yes i know im bad lol
