HTML code for "remember password" on browsers?

Hello, you have noticed in browsers that if you go to a site, and you enter a username and password, the BROWSER (firefox) pops up a small "remember now" option. My question is: HOW THE BROWSER UNDERSTAND THAT THESE FIELDS ARE USERNAME AND PASSWORD???? If i write html should i give some specific "names" to these fields in order for browsers to understand that these are fields that should give the option to user to be remembered??

I am asking this because i made a website, and the firefox does not pops up the "remember password" when i use the username and password fields that i created
