HTC Wizard (or clone) suitability & performance?

Well, for my first post let's make it one of the eternal questions
I'd like to know if I will encounter any performance issues when buying a HTC Wizard or one of it's clones.
At the moment I own an iPaq 2210 and a Sony Ericsson T610, which both perform admirably well, but which I'd like to replace with a single device.
On the PDA-front I'm not a heavy multitasker: it's used primarily as calendar, contacts and GPS (using TomTom 5.21, at the moment with CF receiver, but Bluetooth SiRF III when changing device), and also for doing some PDF-reading (standing still in the ubiquitous traffic jams, waiting for the plane, ...). I'd like to be able to add music playing to this, preferably over A2DP, which is why I'm looking at a WM 5.0 device.
Phonewise I'm even less of a heavy user: last monthly invoice I received I had made 39 calls with an average of 2.5 minutes call time, and i had sent 52 text messages.
I don't use MMS, but I do plan to get a GPRS-account and connect my device to my Exchange 2003 server, as soon as I find a way that I like of handling the spam.

Well, just to point out if it hasn't been already noted: The HTC Wizard doesn't have a CompactFlash (CF) card slot but rather MiniSD. So I'd hate for you to lose out on your GPS reciever.

As it stands, there seem to be plenty of performance and software related issues for the HTC Wizard. Do checkout the threads in the PDA forum. From the looks of it, out of the varieties the Wizard is available in, it seems the i-mate K-JAM is the best. I've read also that coming Q2 of 2006 there'll be a new HTC Hermes with similar specs except better processing power. Just thought I'd give you the heads up.
