HTC touch pro, cricket & google mobile apps

Hey guys,
Long time lurker first post. Has anyone tried out the mobile apps for windows mobile on cricket? They were released a few days ago. Is there email notification? Does the cricket proxy get in the way?

Well specifically I wanted to make sure it worked on cricket. So I figured the cricket section would be appropriate. Why did you have to turn off TF3D?

I turned it off so that I could use the full features of it. Google Mobile Apps doesn't integrate with TF3D so I turned it off and put it on the Today Screen.

And I just meant that this should be in the PDA section.

do this, bind google search to your right softkey in tF3d and it pops up right ontop of tf3d so you don't have to add it to today screen.

:) those two keys will set it to your right soft key and it looks great.

I'm really more interested in how the email works on the pro with cricket. However that will come in handy. Any tips for getting a "blackberry" style functionality out of crickets "unlimitedness"?

Email works great if your email is a web based email address. Otherwise you wont be able to use Outlook or any other POP3 ETC type of mail service as Cricket has all ports except 80 & 8080 blocked on their network. There is a way around this if you have a Cricket Broadband account, but that requires you to pay for that service as well.

If you are on vzw broadband and go cricket broadband you don't have to worry about the proxy. The proxy is ONLY on phone lines.

I know that but If i switch to cricket broadband and use the work around on my touch I'll have to worry about losing mms? At least while I'm using the broadband. I would have to switch between the cricket broadband settings to the regular 1x for MMS. Unless I'm reading that wrong. Also I'm pretty unsure as to weather or not I will be able to receive calls on my normal line while using the broadband on the phone.

Calls arent affected at all and unless you receive TONS of MMS's a day, then its really not much of an annoyance at all. I've been doing this for over 2 weeks now and honestly, its not that big of a hastle and im lazy so for me to say that its not a big deal, it really isnt lol. Only difference you will notice is MMS senRAB/receives slower due to using 1x instead of EVDO to send/download the messages and again, not a big issue. I get a few MMS's a day, and its not an issue for myself :)
