htc touch dimond gps settings?

i have google maps and tomtom 7 for my htc touch Diamond and i can not sort the gps signal out i have tryed everything soft/hard reset all sorts i have been on for days trying to sort it out im using settings com 4 and baud 4800 anyone that could help i would Very much appreciate it thank you
