I bought my boyfriend, recently the Treo 755p, and he loves it. I have the Mogul 6800. First, I had a Palm Tungsten C and TX for so many years. So I am aware of so many apps available for the Treo. The camera on the Treo is way better than that of the mogul. The mogul is ridiculous... which is very low resolution. The treo takes vivid pictures. My boyfriend and I compared the pictures. You can overclock the Treo, you can't the Mogul... believe me, I've been trying. Palm has more apps than windows mobile...Windows has an advantage over Palm in browsing the net... I prefer the Xiino for Palm as a top browser. Skyfire for WM sucks... I much prefer the hacked version of Opera Mobile for WM... no more "out of memory" warning. The treo is more attractive than the mogul too. With chrome buttons, easy to text with one hand and high resolution screen... the treo beats the mogul. Want to make the screen more attractive on the Treo... download appshelf....want better security, real security which windows doesn't have... try TealLock.... the mogul has wifi, a plus, but if you have unlimited data plan, it won't matter. Last, the treo feels more sturdy, unlike the mogul feels like cheap plastic....
We've also compared pictures between the two and the Moguls were better. Possibly differences in unit build/lens? The camera software is no comparison, the Treo is basic and a little slow. Thanks for the app suggestions, we'll try out xiino. Opera mini works, but the java VM is less than stable and has ended development. I agree on the feel issue, the 755 feels more solid but considering that it has no sliding keyboard, it should. Still, while the PALM may have more apps than WM, most are really really old and haven't been updated in 5-6-7 years. The biggest omission by Palm in this unit was to remove the reset button. Pulling the battery when something goes wrong gets tired. Also, a modern smartphone must have gps! Our contract isn't up for a few months, so we'll each be living with our respective phones for a while yet.
BTW, Skyfire doesn't suck per se, it's still beta and needs polish. If they eventually achieve Opera Mini speed with Opera Mobile functionality, it will be a killer app. Currently, I use the wicked fast Opera Mini for general browsing and (hacked)Opera Mobile when I need to d/l or use flash.
When you get down to it, I wouldn't recommend either of these phones at this point. The 755 because it's a 2005 phone with 3g tacked on. the Mogul because it's memory starved, over complicated and has 2 major h/w flaws (white spot and usb port)
