htc hd2 with no phone service should i trade it in for a ipod 4g?

I was wondering if there are any limitations on my htc hd2 phone because i don't have a phone service. I know i can make calls on wifi (skype or VoIP) Can i still get gps, weather service etc. or should I just trade it for an ipod 4g. would there be any benefits by trading it.Thanks for all help
