HTC Desire Z vs. Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant on Bell Mobility

Alright Guys, need some serious help deciding!

I am going to be doing a hardware update. My current phone is the iPhone 3gs. I thought about just upgrading to the iPhone 4 but after more researching now have some serious considerations to the HTC Desire.

Aside from the hinges on the Desire what is everyone's opinion on the two (HTC & Samsung)?
 
desire HD doesn't work in Canada.

If you're concerned about the desire Z's hinges, you could try to get a regular unlocked desire from craigslist or ebay or something. The regular desire is essentially a Nexus One with a few updated parts.
 
Got a Desire Z here. Don't seem to see any issue with the hinges here.

I also got a Galaxy S i9000, now with the official Froyo update on it.

Even with the Galaxy S having Froyo, the faster Hummingbird processor, a brighter, larger screen, in the end, I would still pick the Desire Z.

The Z simply oozes a sense of class the Galaxy S can't match. From the silvery rubber to the brushed aluminum, to having some of the best themes and styles I have seen on a smartphone. The new generation HTC Sense UI, when you pick the right theme or style, is just absolutely gorgeous. The Z might come either with OLED or SLCD. I got an SLCD version and the screen is very sharp.

For some reason, the screen response and smoothness is better on the Desire Z than the Froyo upgraded Galaxy S.

Both are strong emotional devices, and when it comes down to it, my emotions say Desire Z. Its truly a beautiful phone to look at both in and out, and the thing feels like its a piece of art.
 
My i9000 is having quite a lot of problems. I have the choice of replacing it with the same phone or the DZ.

So you are deadset on the DZ? Any more info? Your post is awesome enough as it is as well ty!
 
I got an i9000 that developed a few problems. Mainly growing lag. 90% fixed with the Froyo update. Beautiful.

Even with a fixed Galaxy S with Froyo, alone very impressive enough, I will still pick the Desire Z over it. The new HTC Sense alone would make it worth it. A few other perks too, hinge or not, the DZ is the best body build of any HTC I have seen so far. Physically the phone just looks beautiful, and even more so when the slider is opened. The screen is very sharp and lucid. SLCD is definitely sharper than the pentile OLED Samsung and HTC uses (which came from Samsung) at the expense of color saturation. The phone also feels very fast and smooth too, and there's more to it than the 800MHz would suggest. I have previous HTC phones, Incredible and Desire, and the OS & UI combination of the Desire Z is much more stable than the previous ones.
