HTC Desire vs. iPhone 4

Hi all,

I am stuck deciding on these two phones. I pretty much know what each one offers, but am looking for user experience from members on the forums here. How is the sound and call quality and reception on both phones? After all, a smartphone is useless if it can not act as a decent phone :P. I currently have the Razr2.

The iPhone 4 is potentially touched by that antenna issue, but it's not likely to affect you. I'm a left-hander who should've been plagued by it, but I had a loaner iPhone 4 on a trip to San Francisco (i.e. supposedly an AT&T dead zone) and had a great time both on the phone and with data. Calls are good, at least from your end, since there's noise cancellation.

Call quality with HTC is alright, but it's not the company's strong suit. I like the Desire HD, but the iPhone lasts longer on battery and has a sharper screen that's easier for text.
 
They're both good in reception (I don't consider antennagate that much of an issue) and voice quality, but I would prefer the Desire HD because of its unibody aluminum construction, a camera with more megapixels, removable SD and battery, and the fact that a larger screen is just easier to use and view.
