htc desire or mytouch slide?

ive been waiting for the desire to come out in the U.S but now there is rumors that the mytouch slide is coming out and that it has the scorpion processor of 1.2 ghz so i don't know which one to get. i already have a mytouch 3g and they disappointed me because it is slow and we are still on 1.6 so im wondering if i get the mytouch slide the same thing will happen again plus i was thinking that you might be able to overclock the desire so let me know what you guys think
