HTC Desire or Iphone 4 (Telus Network)?

Im stuck between these two phones, both have their pros and cons but i cannot decide. The HTC desire has great customization options and the flash support is a great bonus to online browsing but then ive been hearing complaints from the android community saying that their devices arent being updated with the latest android OS, the last thing i want is to spend my hard earned money just to find out that my device is going to be one of those left in the dust and forgotten because they are to lazy to update the thing. The iphone 4 is a beautiful device and the app store is a huge bonus but then ive also been hearing the reception problems and how fragile the device actually is with the glass on both sides, is the bumper case a fix to these problems? I'm currently on the Telus Network and both phones appeal to me in their own ways but i need some help here to make my final decision... Thanks for the help in advance
