htc desire or htc desire hd?

i am debating between the two phones above, i was sold on the normal one until the new one came out and since my contract doesnt end on my current phone until august ive had chance to look at the hd version and like the look. i have heard that this phone is ace but has a rubbish battery life maening that its pointless. any one who has this phone please advise.
 
the battery life can last about 6 full hours if you have the sreen brightness up full interent connections on and maps, but if you dont use it... it can last a full week without having a recharge.

if you browse the internet for a few hours and talk for a bit, you have to charge it every night with about 10% left over


a bunch new phones will be coming out by a number of companies before this time, but HTC will sure release a new one by then because they are on a roll at the moment. its worth giving the market a gander before purchacing any phone tho, even tho the Desire HD is still going to compete with anything anybody brings out before 2012
