Greetings,

I am looking for a new all-in-one device. At the moment, the HP hw6515 is the front runner. I don't really care much about the camera, but having the built it GPS antenna is handy for me.

If you have had experience with a 6500 series phone (6500, 6510, 6515) can you post here or PM me with the pros/cons please.

I am considering other all-in-ones like the HTC campatible phones (Imate k-jam, PPC 9700, etc), but they all require an external bluetooth GPS antenna... If you have any suggestions for a better choice for an all in one, feel free to post here or PM me. Please be specific as to why you support a model or why I should stay away.

im in the same situation. i was going to buy a normal phone but i have a v635 and it does everything a normal phone should so i want a ppc phone. not neccesarily ppc but basically i want aim, a keyboard, and a good camera. i was thinking about a bb but no camera... so i narrowed it down to the kjam, 6515, or 6682. i dont want the treo, it looks wayy to nerdy.

(ps im 15... lol. im on cingular and i want a sidekick alternative thats basically it. and im not stupid so dont tell me im too young)

Oh yea. i would like one that has 200 buddies not 30

Stay away from the treo 650 its a real bad interface in my opionion. I have a hw6515 personally, and just for a heads up you need to buy the tom-tom software your self however microsoft streets is included, which has been alright for me. But HW6515 all the way!!

EDIT: I am sorry for the mistake, I am not sure about the GPS software on the unlocked version of the hp ipaq hw6515, But i do know that microsoft streets it included free.
Sorry for the mistake I have a cingular branded unlocked hp ipaq hw6515 so i can make a mistake here and there.

Thanks!

I think I a going to go for an HP IPAQ... Most likely the 6515. So far, no one in the Marketplace here is able to unlock this phone. You mention you have an unlocked Cingular... Does Cingular send it out unlocked, or did you get it unlocked?

Feel free to PM me if you wish...

I had hp hw6510 for past 3 months now, and absolutly LOVE it. Best PDA every, GPS functions in it is AWESOME. Extremely fast connection, much better than any other handheld GPS I have seen. Only problem is some of the softwares available don't go very well with it due to the secreen size. Voice clarity, and ruggedness is great. I wish they release the latest firmware for it. I don't know if any one know of it, if so, please reply me. Thanks

Actually that is not true. The IPAQ only plays WMV, ASF in the Windows Media Player that comes out of the box. There is a software that you can d/n that plays AVI,MP4,MPEG1-2, ETC. its called TCPMP heress the Link:
http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about ---- Thats basiclly what I use its very easy to use and also has a CAB file so you an install it directly on your IPAQ or O2 XDA etc.

A friend of mine has the 6515 and it was pretty cool, but I will give you my pros and cons:

Pros:
- Decent Camera
- EDGE
- Bluetooth
- SD AND MiniSD card slot
- the GPS receiver was pretty cool

Cons:
- I don't like the keyboard, the keys were too small
- It is rather large
- He said battery life is pretty bad on it.
