How's this poem sound to you?

I don't know, I'm really proud of it. What do you think?

It's called
Arguing With Myself

What is time,
But a word?

Clocks are nothing;
I'll break your goddamn clock
It's a machine
No thoughts, no feelings;
Words-connection
Clocks can't

Time is a relative concept
There is no time
I mean, really, is there?
Who says there was a beginning?
What came before?

It's perfectly non-linear
Secular
Misconception
I'll break the rules
Reject reality
And anyway, love

A four letter disguise.

Well then, what disguise?
What to hide?
What is so worth it
To try?

Time doesn't tick,
Time doesn't tock
Time doesn't stop;
Reminds me of pain
Misery
Defeat
and Something slightly sweet
That lingers on my tongue
Is it remorse
Or love?

They're possibly the same.

I can control time
By taking my fingers
and pushing against your hands
Shaking up the sand
In an hourglass

We both know it won't last

Time is not reality
They're linked like sand to stone-
Not at all
Time, the sand will erode
The rock
Time, the sand, with
Time's good friends
Pressure and Heat
Will turn to stone

And what if the balance
Were interrupted?
What if reality
What if time
Was non-existant?

I can deny it -
Reality, time
You can too
If you try
(It's a paradox
That spins around and around
Like a clock?)

A disguise,
A facade,
It's a word

(And it's not worth a lot.)

Those little sounds
That come from the clocks
They reassure you
Of the time you're wasting away

And if I were deaf?
Would I be at all aware of time?
Or would it be-
Is it
A trick of the mind?
Optical illusion-
mirage of the eyes
All leading up
To your untimely demise?

Time doesn't wait
You can't escape
Your past
Present
Future
(neither will wait)

I won't deny
But I'll try
To forget
My past
And my present
The future has to be
created
Of threads you have
To weave yourself
The past is a loom
For tomorrow

A word is a word
Is a letter
Is a sound
Is a concept
Is made from humans
Made from neurons
and flesh
and seventy percent water
And so I come back
to my original argument

Who is god?
Who am I?
A dyslexic?

(Admittedly, I'm a cat person.)
