Howdo you create a crisp jpeg for a 5x7 card without it looking all smudged?????MUDGED?

I am trying to make 5x7 cards in jpeg format from my document and it still looks smudged. I don't want it in any other format. So what can I do to keep it clear and crisp looking as if it were a pdf. Oh and it has images in it too.
