Howcome I am not very confident, yet I have a desire to "rule" in life...?

Perhaps even to the level that is usually found in dictators.

Wouldn't this require confidence to already be strong/high in the person, to the point they are self-obsessed, even slightly...?

People with high-confidence tend to take charge, and sieze power at the first opportunity whilst less confident people are happy being a follower...but I am less confident, yet I have a desire to "rule" as it were...what is going on?
Based on experience so far:

I tend to notice faults and errors, which I have no qualms about mentioning, and I have little empathy or sympathy for the person who should have stopped the errors from occurring and/or rectified them as soon as possible - their embarrassment doesn't concern me, and often, I seek to use their flaws to better myself professionally.

As you might expect...this has got me into quite a few bad situations within a workplace.

I can't help but question authority, and then expose weak links.

I view this is a good personality trait, but it means that I can't work well with others.
